Gangjin-gun Operates Mobile Vaccine Bus to Boost COVID-19 Booster Shots Effort

[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do, is operating the nation’s first “Mobile Vaccine Bus” for additional COVID-19 vaccinations for residents aged 60 and over, in preparation for the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections recently exceeding 3,000 cases.

According to the county on the 18th, the Mobile Vaccine Bus will operate from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at health centers located in the county, starting with Gundo-myeon and Sinjeon-myeon from the 1st to the 10th of next month.

The county plans to utilize two buses currently operated by the public health center: a physical therapy bus and a mobile dental clinic bus. Two teams consisting of one doctor, two nurses, and two administrative staff will be formed to ensure rapid and safe vaccinations.

Additionally, the vaccination center, which was scheduled to close at the end of last month, has been extended to operate three times a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) until November, completing vaccinations for 1,800 people. For residents who have difficulty traveling and remain unvaccinated, the Mobile Vaccine Bus will visit two townships per day.

In particular, this Mobile Vaccine Bus service is available not only for additional vaccinations but also for unvaccinated domestic residents and undocumented foreign nationals who wish to receive the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Gangjin-gun is conducting proactive vaccination efforts, including vaccination guidance and promotion targeting 4,866 seniors aged 75 and over who have received their second dose, urging active participation to overcome the fourth wave crisis with thorough preventive measures.
