Ministry of the Interior and Safety Selects 13 Outstanding Institutions for 'Public Data Provision and Operation'... Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service Wins Presidential Award
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service has been selected as an excellent institution for supporting innovative growth by opening public data and improving the convenience of citizens' lives, and will receive the Presidential Citation.
On the 18th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that it selected 13 institutions as the '2021 Excellent Public Data Institutions' by evaluating the provision and operation status of public data last year.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluated 535 institutions in five areas last year: public data management system, opening, utilization, quality, and others.
The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, which received the highest score, was selected for the Presidential Citation, while the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Yangju City in Gyeonggi-do were selected as recipients of the Prime Minister's Citation. The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service contributed greatly to solving the mask shortage problem in the early stages of COVID-19 by opening information on public mask sales locations and inventory, and also opened information on public safety hospitals and screening clinics so that citizens could visit medical institutions and receive treatment with peace of mind.
Ten institutions, including the National Police Agency, Incheon Metropolitan City, Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi-do, and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, were selected as recipients of the Minister of the Interior and Safety Citation. The National Police Agency opened data related to crimes and public safety, such as drunk driving enforcement results and voice phishing statistics, which are of high social interest, receiving a strong response. It also provided various public services using data, such as the safety map app for socially vulnerable groups (Ansimhae) and the nighttime safe alley safety system.
