[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Ji-woon] The “Non-face-to-face Online Lifelong Education” operated by Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) is receiving great responses.
According to the county on the 17th, the county is operating various non-face-to-face lifelong education programs to reduce learning gaps caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to provide vitality in life.
Last month, the county opened seven educational programs including medicinal plant management and real estate lectures, and currently, 310 residents are participating in online learning through Zoom.
By operating programs during day and night and reflecting interests by age group, the county has activated participation from office workers and middle-aged groups who usually had low participation rates, thereby satisfying the learning needs of various age groups, the county explained.
The “Learning Take Out” course, which distributes experience kits and is conducted through online explanations, is popular.
Composed of talent donation lectures by local instructors such as making herb oil and salt, mini flower baskets, and rattan crafts, a one-experience-a-day program is also underway.
One participant said, “It is very convenient because I can participate regardless of location,” and added, “Being able to receive education in various fields greatly helps relieve stress.”
A county official said, “We hope that new learning participation will help residents quickly return to their daily lives,” and added, “We will strive to develop and discover learning programs in various fields so that residents can safely enjoy learning opportunities anytime and anywhere.”
