LG Electronics Teams Up with K-Golf to Target Screen Golf Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] LG Electronics is teaming up with KGOLF, a company specializing in screen golf simulator production, to target the screen golf market.
On the 17th, LG Electronics and KGOLF held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ceremony at the KGOLF Club Bangbae Main Branch (directly managed) located in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. This collaboration aims to combine LG Electronics' hardware technologies such as beam projectors and PCs with KGOLF's golf simulator software to provide customers with a realistic screen golf environment.
The two companies will gradually proceed with discovering new business opportunities through joint marketing in overseas screen golf markets and introducing LG ProBeam projectors to KGOLF franchise stores.
The LG ProBeam (SGU510N) projector that LG Electronics is introducing to KGOLF screen golf stores features a maximum screen size of 300 inches (762 cm diagonal) with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution. It is evaluated to offer an immersive golf experience with brightness comparable to lighting 5,000 candles simultaneously, at about 5,000 ANSI lumens. Additionally, it is equipped with a laser light source that lasts approximately 20,000 hours, five times longer than conventional lamp light sources.
Choi Seok-woong, CEO of KGOLF, said, “Through the MOU with LG Electronics, which has the world’s best IT manufacturing technology and a global sales network, we have laid the foundation to expand golf simulators not only domestically but also to the global market. In the future, we will grow into a golf-specialized game company, including mobile golf games as well as screen golf.”
