South Korea and Japan join hands to resume and revitalize tourism exchanges.
On the 15th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that on the 17th, it will hold the Korea-Japan Tourism Promotion Council with Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to discuss various cooperation measures.
The Korea-Japan Tourism Promotion Council has been a platform for exchanging tourism opinions annually since 1986. This year, it will be held online.
About fifty officials from both countries' tourism organizations, tourism industries, and local governments will attend, including Kim Jang-ho, Director General of Tourism Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Kaneko Tomohiro, Director of the International Tourism Department at Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will introduce the "Korea-Singapore Travel Safe Zone Initiative" as a representative policy. The Japan Tourism Agency will focus on policies under the theme "For the Revival of Tourism."

An official stated, "Topics such as Incheon's 'Intelligent Tourism City Case' and Japan's Mie Prefecture's 'Open Tourism and Golf Tourism' will also be discussed," adding, "We plan to exchange efforts and measures not only for tourism exchanges but also for resuming overseas travel."
