According to Ansan Sangnok Police Station in Gyeonggi on the 14th, a missing person report was received at 5:42 p.m. on the 13th from A's older brother, who said, "My younger sister has not been in contact since she spoke with our mother this morning."
A, who lives apart from family in a dormitory at a university in Ansan, was last reported to have spoken with her mother at 10:43 a.m. on the same day.
After receiving the missing person report, the police began a search and tracked A's movements through closed-circuit television (CCTV). The police believe that A was trapped in the elevator while coming back up to the dormitory after going outside, and with the cooperation of the fire department, rescued A from the elevator that had stopped between the 2nd and 3rd floors of the dormitory.
At the time, it was understood that A had left her mobile phone in her dorm room and went to a convenience store, but the dormitory elevator broke down, trapping her for about 10 hours from 11 a.m.
