Police Launch Investigation into Fraudulent Sales Sites Exploiting the "Yososu Crisis"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] As counterfeit websites impersonating retail sales sites have emerged amid the "urea water crisis," the police have launched an investigation into these sites.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 10th, "We have identified websites impersonating sales sites to fraudulently collect money by exploiting the recent shortage of urea water, and have immediately begun an investigation."
It is reported that these sites are operated by mimicking the homepage of Company A, which sells urea water, while charging prices more than four times higher than the normal price.
In particular, the counterfeit sites reportedly used Company A's logo along with the representative's name, business name, business registration number, and address exactly as they are, only changing the domain to a different homepage address.
