Changwon City, '2021 Changwon Street Festival' Planned Directly by Citizens
Held over two days on November 13 and 14 around City Hall and Seongsan Art Hall areas
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] The '2021 Changwon Street Festival,' now in its 5th year, will be held over two days on the 13th and 14th at the area between Changwon City Hall and Seongsan Art Hall in Gyeongnam.
The street festival is an urban festival centered on a process where culture becomes part of daily life and citizens participate and create autonomously.
The city recruited 13 members for the Citizen Festival Planning Group through a public contest last July and planned this festival after several meetings regarding the event programs and the overall festival.
According to the city on the 10th, the event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. under the slogan "Plus on the Street," featuring various programs.
First, various street performances will be held over the two days at the playground of Seongsan Art Hall. A variety of attractions such as popular songs, performances, dance, and various musical instrument performances will be provided for the whole family to enjoy.
Along with this, surprise flash mob performances will take place throughout the event area. These short, sudden performances are expected to offer citizens a new experience where everyday streets transform into spaces of art.
Additionally, high-level performances that are usually hard to access, such as tango dance, fusion dance, and line dance, will be showcased. Experience booths that children will enjoy, including sand art, sport stacking, chalk art live drawing, drone experience, and flower garden making, are also prepared.
