Geochang-gun Holds Hanmaeum Library Operations Committee Meeting
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it held the 2021 Library Operation Committee to discuss efficient operation and development plans of the library.
On this day, the committee was attended by nine experts from various fields working in the local education and cultural sectors, as well as library officials, who reported on the current status of library operations and discussed next year's operation plans.
At the meeting, the library projects for this year, including the expansion of non-face-to-face library services due to COVID-19, revitalization of small libraries, and operation of various reading programs, received high praise.
In particular, there was great anticipation for next year's new projects such as the expansion of smart libraries at the township level and reading 100 classics of humanities. In-depth discussions were also held on reading programs by life cycle and ways to promote reading among residents.
Jung Jong-chan, chairman of the Library Operation Committee, urged, “To solve the problem of decreased reading time among residents due to video media, we will strive to promote the importance of reading and create an enjoyable book reading environment to activate reading.”
