The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 9th that a total of 10 exemplary cases for the third quarter, including this one, were selected at the Proactive Administration Committee held on the 4th. There were 2 grand prizes, 3 excellence awards, and 5 encouragement awards.
The grand prize was awarded to the 'Establishment of the COVID-19 Vaccination Pre-Reservation System.' When inconveniences such as waiting over 10 hours for reservations for people in their 50s occurred, a 'Public-Private Joint Task Force (T/F)' was formed to improve the system, significantly reducing the reservation time for those aged 18 to 49 to as short as 2-3 minutes and at most about 10 minutes. This case has advanced to the inter-ministerial government evaluation in the second half of this year, with the award decision scheduled for the 25th of this month.
The case titled 'Opening a Safe Smart Store with Converged Security and Artificial Intelligence Technology' also received a grand prize. It enabled the opening of smart stores that can be used safely without concerns about physical threats such as theft or violence and information security threats such as leakage of critical information.
The 'Excellence' cases included ▲support for maintenance of production facilities to stabilize semiconductor supply ▲revolutionary improvement in electromagnetic wave measurement methods for 5th generation (5G) mobile communications (cell phones and base stations) ▲establishment of a social safety net through free public insurance enrollment for low-income groups via institutional and corporate collaboration.
