On the 8th, Sim held a press conference after paying respects at the Gwangju National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery and said this.
Sim said, "Yoon Seok-yeol says he will come to Gwangju soon. What kind of shame does a candidate who takes Jeon Du-hwan as a role model have to come to Gwangju?" and added, "Even if a president made such remarks and behavior, they should be ousted. No politician who associates the people with dogs has survived."
Regarding Yoon's recent mention of pardoning former presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye, Sim said, "Gwangju citizens must never tolerate Yoon, who intends to do politics like Jeon Du-hwan," and "Moreover, if Yoon becomes president, isn't he saying he will pardon Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye?"
She continued, "Covering up mistakes is not harmony; setting history right is the true path to harmony," and added, "Under a Sim Sang-jung administration, there will definitely be no pardons that go against the justice of history."
