Trump Announces China’s Decision to Purchase 200 Boeing Jets
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping had expressed his willingness to help keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
During an interview with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, who accompanied him on his visit to Beijing on the 14th (Beijing time), President Trump said, "He (President Xi) wants the Strait of Hormuz to remain open. He told me, 'If I can help in any way, I want to help.'" Trump continued, "He also said he would not provide military equipment (to Iran). He was very firm about it."
This was part of an edited interview preview featuring President Trump's remarks. Whether there are further details about China's support will only be known when the full interview is released in the evening of the 14th.
President Trump also mentioned in the interview that President Xi had agreed to purchase U.S.-grown soybeans, oil, and liquefied natural gas (LNG), as well as 200 Boeing 737 aircraft from the United States.

President Trump had previously announced that he intended to focus on trade issues rather than the Iran war during this visit to China. Soybeans, beef, and Boeing aircraft account for approximately 12% of all U.S. exports to China.
