Facebook and Instagram Experience Another Outage "Cause Under Investigation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Facebook and Instagram messaging functions experienced access disruptions on the 3rd (local time), according to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
According to the report, some services such as Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct Messages (DM) are not functioning smoothly.
A Facebook spokesperson confirmed, "We have identified issues accessing Facebook Messenger, the enterprise communication service Workplace Chat, and Instagram DM for some users," adding, "We are working to restore services as quickly as possible." The cause of the access disruption has not yet been determined.
Facebook and Instagram experienced similar access disruptions lasting about six hours last month, causing inconvenience to users worldwide, including in the United States and Europe.

At that time, the Associated Press reported that the access disruption occurred shortly after Frances Haugen, a former senior product manager and Facebook whistleblower, revealed in an interview with the US CBS network that "Facebook deliberately allowed content containing violent misinformation to spread."
