Democratic Party Gwangju Branch Launches 'Local Autonomy Academy' to Train Candidates for Next Year's Local Elections
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Democratic Party of Korea Gwangju Metropolitan City Party has launched the ‘2021 Gwangju Party Local Autonomy Academy’ to nurture candidates who will run in the 8th nationwide local elections next year.
On the 2nd, the Democratic Party of Korea Gwangju Party announced that on the 1st, it held the entrance ceremony for the ‘2021 Wise Political Life Gwangju Party Local Autonomy Academy’ at La Boom Wedding Hall in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, with 105 academy students in attendance.
Song Young-gil, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, personally attended the entrance ceremony to welcome and encourage the participants.
Leader Song said, “The Democratic Party will operate the nomination criteria for next year’s local elections fairly,” adding, “In particular, the contribution of the candidates to the presidential election in March next year should be the standard.”
He continued, “I ask Song Gap-seok, chairman of the Gwangju Party, and others to make Gwangju a model region that practices fair nomination criteria,” and added, “I also believe that fair primary rules will be operated.”
Song Gap-seok, chairman of the Gwangju Party, who took the podium as the first lecturer, gave a lecture titled ‘Contemplating the Future Food Sources of Gwangju and Jeonnam.’
Chairman Song introduced the ‘Honam RE 300’ project, a super-regional economic community encompassing Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk, emphasizing his sense of mission as a Honam politician.
Chairman Song encouraged, “It is a critical time when we must change the game to transform the underdeveloped future of Honam,” adding, “I hope that in 10 years, the children of Honam will grow as local politicians who can contemplate and achieve future food sources to live in Honam.”
Meanwhile, the ‘2021 Wise Political Life Gwangju Party Local Autonomy Academy’ will be held in a total of eight sessions until the 20th of next month, with lecturers including ▲National Assembly member Lee Kwang-jae ▲lawyer Hyun Geun-taek ▲GIST professor Kim Jun-ha ▲Gwangju Election Commission officer Jung Soo-hyun ▲Research View CEO Ahn Il-kwon ▲Gwangju Women and Family Foundation CEO Kim Mi-kyung.
