[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Hotel Lotte is launching the first entrusted operation hotel project in Korea.
Hotel Lotte announced on the 2nd that it signed a business agreement on the 1st at Hapcheon County Office for the entrusted operation of the Hapcheon Film Theme Park Hotel. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Hyun-sik, CEO of Hotel Lotte, Moon Jun-hee, Mayor of Hapcheon County, and Kim Ki-kyung, Chairman of Hapcheon Tourism Development.
Hapcheon County and Hapcheon Tourism Development plan to build a 200-room hotel within Hapcheon Film Theme Park, with Hotel Lotte entrusted to operate it. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first half of 2024, and the brand to be introduced is currently under review.
Hotel Lotte believes that its management capabilities and over 40 years of operational experience played a key role in being selected as the operator. Hotel Lotte currently operates four hotels overseas under entrusted management: Lotte City Hotel Tashkent Palace, Lotte Hotel Yangon, Lotte Hotel Samara, and Lotte Hotel Seattle. The Hapcheon Film Theme Park Hotel will be the first entrusted operation hotel domestically.
Kim Hyun-sik, CEO of Hotel Lotte, said, "The natural scenery of Hapcheon County combined with Hotel Lotte will create a new tourist attraction," adding, "As a leading hotel brand in Korea, we will contribute to revitalizing local tourism in the phased daily recovery (With-Corona) era."

Meanwhile, Hapcheon in Gyeongnam is recognized as a wellness tourism city where visitors can enjoy beautiful nature and cultural heritage such as Haeinsa Temple, Hwangmaesan Mountain, and Hapcheon Lake. Hwangmaesan Mountain was selected as one of Korea’s 50 most beautiful places by CNN in the United States, and Hapcheon Film Theme Park, where the hotel will be located, is a filming set for various movies and dramas. The completion of the Hamyang-Ulsan highway in 2024 is also expected to improve accessibility.
