LG Uplus announced on the 1st that it will exclusively broadcast the ‘18th Jarasum International Jazz Festival,’ held over three days starting from the 5th, on its IPTV and mobile media platforms. This is the first time in 18 years that the event is held simultaneously online. This is the first time in 18 years.
The Jarasum Festival is Korea’s longest-running jazz festival, held every autumn since 2004 on Jarasum Island in Gapyeong County. This year, the October schedule was postponed to November due to COVID-19, and the number of on-site attendees was limited.
This year’s Jarasum Festival lineup includes 이날치, who gained great popularity in Korea last year with “Beom Naeryeonda,” as well as Sunwoo Jung-a, Bada, Na Yoon-sun, and the Jung Won-young Band. The quintet ‘Jazz Forum Talents,’ representing the young wave of the Polish jazz scene, will perform via video.
Non-face-to-face viewing of this year’s Jarasum Festival is available through the ‘U+Stage’ menu on U+tv and U+mobiletv. U+Stage is a category brand that gathers and provides art and performance content on TV and mobile. Currently, about 400 cultural contents are offered free of charge.
