Moon Jeon-il, DGIST Vice President, Receives Presidential Citation for Contributions to Mechanical Robotics and Aerospace Industry Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) announced on the 1st that Moon Jeon-il, Vice President of Research and Director of the Convergence Research Institute, received the Presidential Citation at the '2021 RoboWorld' and 'Mechanical Robot Aviation Industry Development Merit Awards Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on the 27th of last month.
Vice President Moon was recognized for his contributions to driving the growth of the robot industry through the establishment and execution of the 3rd Basic Plan for Intelligent Robots. He contributed to fostering the robot industry and cooperation across various industrial sectors by promoting the introduction of robots in manufacturing production processes and preparing a regulatory innovation roadmap. Since 2018, he has also been operating the 'Korea Robot Center' in Hangzhou, China, as a foothold for domestic robot companies to advance overseas.
