[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, held a briefing on the 31st in response to the phased return to normal life starting from November 1st.
The vaccination completion rate in Gwangjin-gu is currently 77.8% (as of 0:00 on October 30), and the first dose vaccination rate is 83.4%, which is higher than the national and Seoul city averages.
Mayor Kim said, "I thank all the residents who actively participated in quarantine and vaccination," and added, "The additional vaccination, which started with the elderly, will be expanded to those in their 50s in November. Since vaccines have an expiration period, please make sure to receive the additional vaccination to maintain the return to normal life."
He then explained the three-step phased return to normal life starting November 1st: ▲Step 1 lifting operating hour restrictions on restaurants and cafes ▲Step 2 allowing large-scale events ▲Step 3 lifting restrictions on the number of private gatherings.
Mayor Kim said, "Although the phased return to normal life begins, looking at the confirmed case situations in countries that started earlier, I feel a new tension as the person responsible for quarantine in Gwangjin-gu," and appealed, "Even after returning to normal life, please strictly follow the most important quarantine rule, wearing masks." He concluded by saying, "Gwangjin-gu will do its best for a safe return to normal life."
Prior to this, Gwangjin-gu reorganized the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' comprehensive situation room to prepare for the phased return to normal life, establishing the 'Isolation Management Team' and 'Health Management Team' dedicated to managing home treatment.
The 'Isolation Management Team' is responsible for delivering home treatment kits, essential daily necessities and medications for confirmed cases, and checking for violations using the self-quarantine app. The 'Health Management Team' cooperates with three local medical institutions to monitor home treatment patients twice a day and supports transportation and medical care in case of emergencies.
