Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station to Operate 'Fire Safety Awareness Month' in November
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station (Chief Kim Hee-chul) announced on the 31st that it will designate November as the "Fire Prevention Emphasis Month" ahead of the winter season when fire risks increase, and will begin implementing fire prevention measures.
The "74th Fire Prevention Emphasis Month" aims to create a fire-safe environment centered on the public by utilizing various fire safety promotional contents to foster a fire prevention atmosphere that citizens can empathize with and participate in.
Additionally, to "expand citizen-centered preventive publicity," the station will carry out multifaceted fire prevention activities including ▲posting fire prevention banners and signs at public institution buildings and multi-use facilities ▲broadcasting fire prevention promotional videos on large monitors and electronic billboards in the jurisdiction ▲fire prevention campaigns to spread safety culture ▲contests such as children's firefighter drawing competitions ▲promotion of residential fire safety equipment installation.
Kang Wang-gu, Director of the Prevention and Safety Division, stated, "On the occasion of the 74th Fire Prevention Emphasis Month, we ask for the public’s great interest so that an environment where citizens voluntarily participate in and empathize with fire prevention can be established."
