'Veteran of the Film Industry' Taeheung Film Founder Lee Taewon Passes Away at 83 Years Old
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Lee Taewon, a veteran of the Korean film industry and founder of Taehung Film Company, passed away on the 24th at the age of 83.
According to the cultural community, Lee passed away that afternoon at Severance Hospital in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. It is known that he had been hospitalized and receiving treatment for about 1 year and 7 months following a fall accident in May of last year.
Born in 1938, he entered film production by establishing Taehung Film Company in 1983. His representative works include "Aje Aje Bara Aje," "General's Son," "Seopyeonje," "Chunhyangjeon," and "Chwi Hwa Seon."
