Professor Lim Ji-hyung of Chosun University Awarded the 'Korea Arts and Culture Merit Award'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hyung-joo] Professor Lim Ji-hyung of the Department of Performing Arts and Dance at Chosun University received the Korea Arts and Culture Meritorious Award, presented by the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations (Korea Federation of Arts).
According to Chosun University on the 18th, Professor Lim was awarded the Korea Arts and Culture Meritorious Award on the 15th, an honor given to artists who have made remarkable contributions to the development of arts and culture.
Professor Lim was highly recognized for dedicating himself to creative activities with a noble artistic spirit and for his contributions to the promotion and development of Korean arts and culture, as well as expanding the public's right to enjoy culture.
Currently, Professor Lim is serving in the Department of Performing Arts and Dance at Chosun University and is active as the artistic director of the Gwangju Modern Dance Company.
He has also served as the head of the Gwangju branch of the Korea Dance Association, vice president of the Korea Modern Dance Association, and director of the Korea Dance Association. He has received awards such as the Excellence Award at the 21st Seoul Dance Festival and the Presidential Award at the 12th Korea Dance Festival.
Professor Lim said, “I am grateful to the Korea Federation of Arts and all artists for receiving this award, which is regarded as the highest honor in the arts. I will use this opportunity to further devote myself to the development of regional dance culture and support for creative activities.”
