On the same day, Hong held the first External Economic Security Strategy Meeting at the Seoul Government Complex and emphasized, "Especially recently, with the restructuring of supply chains, securing and protecting advanced technology has emerged as a core issue in our external economic security."
He diagnosed that it is urgent to prepare preemptive technology acquisition measures and to build a meticulous technology safety net at the inter-ministerial level.

He also stressed that additional detailed plans on key issues such as ▲selection and discovery of core technologies with high strategic value ▲establishment of personnel and technology protection systems in response to intensified technology theft ▲response to technology standardization and strengthening of international cooperation will be developed through inter-ministerial collaboration.
