President Moon, Pfizer Vaccine Booster Shot Cross-Vaccination
1st and 2nd doses with AZ, booster shot with Pfizer cross-vaccination... Vaccination ahead of overseas trip at the end of this month
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in received a booster shot of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on the 15th. President Moon had received the first and second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, but this time he received Pfizer, making it a mixed vaccination.
The Blue House announced on the 15th, "President Moon visited the COVID-19 Central Vaccination Center (National Medical Center) at 9 a.m. to receive an additional COVID-19 vaccination."
President Moon's additional vaccination was carried out in preparation for his overseas trip scheduled for the end of this month. Currently, additional vaccinations for high-risk groups such as the elderly have been underway domestically since the 12th.
The additional vaccination targets include the elderly who have passed six months since their second dose, COVID-19 treatment medical staff, residents and workers of nursing hospitals and nursing facilities (immunocompromised individuals and those with reasons such as overseas travel may receive vaccination earlier than six months).
Earlier, President Moon received his first and second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Jongno-gu Public Health Center on March 23 and April 30, respectively.
The Blue House explained, "Currently, additional vaccinations are only being administered with the Pfizer vaccine at vaccination centers and designated medical institutions, so the vaccination was given at the Central Vaccination Center within the National Medical Center, not at the Jongno-gu Public Health Center."
