On the 14th, the Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul announced that a woman in her 30s was found dead in a motel room in Doksan-dong, Geumcheon-gu at around 6:20 PM on the 13th.
The police, who responded to a report from the motel staff, identified a man A (40) who entered the motel with the woman at around 10:30 PM on the 12th by checking closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage. It was confirmed that they were former lovers.
Earlier, A was found dead in a mountain forest in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province at around 10 AM on the 13th. It was confirmed that after killing the woman at the motel, he left the motel alone at around 4 AM and drove his car to the mountain forest.

A police official stated, "We are investigating the motive for the murder through CCTV and mobile phone forensics, and the victim's body will be autopsied," adding, "Since the suspect is already deceased, the case will be closed due to lack of prosecution rights."
