[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Samsung Electronics will attend the supply chain improvement meeting chaired by U.S. President Joe Biden.
According to the White House on the 13th (local time), Choi Kyung-sik, head of Samsung Electronics North America, will participate in a video conference for supply chain improvement that afternoon.
In addition to Samsung Electronics, the meeting will be attended by representatives from Walmart, FedEx, Target, Home Depot, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, UPS, the National Retail Federation, the American Railway Association, the American Trucking Associations, the Port of LA, and the Port of Long Beach.
An official stated that the meeting will discuss joint efforts to resolve global supply chain bottlenecks and emphasized that efforts by private companies such as Samsung, Target, and Home Depot are also necessary for supply chain improvement.
The official also mentioned that private retailers and logistics companies have agreed to contribute to supply chain improvement by extending working hours.
