Jinju City Provides Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products to 1,500 Pregnant Women
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Cho Gyu-il, mayor of Jinju City, visited Gyeongnam Agricultural Salim Farming Association Corporation, a supplier of eco-friendly agricultural products for pregnant women, on the 12th to inspect the packaging process of eco-friendly agricultural products and encourage the workers.
The eco-friendly agricultural product support project for pregnant women is a project newly initiated by Jinju City this year to provide eco-friendly certified agricultural products for the health of pregnant women while helping farms struggling due to COVID-19.
The city originally promoted the project with a total budget of 480 million KRW targeting 1,000 people, but as the project received great interest from citizens, an additional 240 million KRW was secured, making the final support target 1,500 people.
Pregnant women in the Jinju area will receive support of 4.8 million KRW for purchasing eco-friendly agricultural products, which can be used for up to 12 months during pregnancy or after childbirth, by paying 20% of the total cost, 960,000 KRW.
The support target is those who currently reside in Jinju City and are pregnant or have given birth after January 1 of this year, and they must submit an application form to the administrative welfare center to receive support.
The package consists of eco-friendly certified agricultural and livestock products, processed foods, etc. It can be purchased up to four times a month at the eco-friendly agricultural product online mall for pregnant women.
