Gwangju Fire Headquarters Launches '119 Safety Call Service' Registration Campaign
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 13th that it held a registration campaign for the ‘119 Safety Call Service’ in the lobby of Building 1 at Jeonnam National University Hospital to prepare for emergency situations involving severe emergency diseases.
The 119 Safety Call Service is a service that allows subscribers to pre-register information such as medical history, medications being taken, and the hospital they visit. This information is automatically transmitted to the dispatched ambulance team when a 119 call is made, enabling appropriate emergency treatment on site.
As of last month, the cumulative number of subscribers in the Gwangju area is 8,042. The service is used for various reasons, including 3,209 elderly living alone (39.9%), 2,505 due to illness (31.1%), 377 elderly people (4.7%), and 1,951 others (24.3%).

Service registration can be done by the individual or a proxy through the 119 Safety Reporting Center website. For patients discharged after treatment for cerebrovascular diseases, proxy registration is being conducted at Jeonnam National University Hospital through the formation of a public health medical cooperation council.
