Boeing Mandates COVID-19 Vaccination for All Former U.S. Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 12th (local time) that Boeing in the United States has requested all employees in the U.S. to report their COVID-19 vaccination status.
Boeing notified the union that it requires 125,000 employees working in the U.S. to submit proof of vaccination by December 8.
While exemptions for medical or religious reasons will be considered, employees must be able to submit negative COVID-19 test results regularly.
Boeing does not plan to disclose vaccination rate data to employees.
Earlier, the Joe Biden administration issued an executive order last month requiring federal contractors to complete COVID-19 vaccinations by December 8.
Boeing, as a defense contractor supplying military aircraft to the U.S. government, must comply with this executive order.
