Texas Governor Bans Vaccine Mandates in All Organizations
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, USA, has issued an executive order prohibiting all organizations, including private companies, from mandating COVID-19 vaccinations, AP News reported on the 11th (local time).
Governor Abbott stated, "In Texas, no organization can force vaccination on individuals such as employees or guests who oppose the vaccine due to conscience, religious beliefs, or medical reasons."
This executive order comes as the U.S. federal government is attempting to establish regulations requiring workplaces with 100 or more employees to either mandate vaccination or conduct weekly infection testing.
American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, headquartered in Texas, have expressed their intention to comply with the federal government's vaccine mandate regulations.
