Suwon City Supports Student Loan Interest... Applications Accepted Until the 29th
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, is recruiting university students participating in the '2021 University Student Loan Interest Support' program until the 29th of this month.
The support targets university students (including those on leave) who received student loans (tuition and living expenses) from the Korea Student Aid Foundation since 2017 and whose income bracket at the time of the loan was at or below the 8th percentile.
The student must currently be registered as a resident in Suwon City.
Students from families with three or more children can receive support regardless of income bracket. Those who have previously received student loan interest support can reapply.
Graduates, graduate students, recipients of student loan interest support programs from other local governments, recipients of the Gyeonggi-do 2021 second half university student loan interest support program, and those who have fully repaid their loans are excluded from eligibility.
Interest on early repayment and loans taken before 2016 are not eligible for support.
The support amount covers interest accrued in the first half of 2021 (January 1 to June 30) on loans taken since 2017.
Support will be provided in December through repayment to the Korea Student Aid Foundation loan. Selected university students will be notified via text message.
