Seven Eleven Launches 'Green Fill Box' for Refill Sales of Laundry and Kitchen Detergents
Pilot Operation of Eco-Friendly Vending Machine Type Refill Station with Lotte Aluminum and Plandbnew
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Seven Eleven announced on the 12th that it has started operating the eco-friendly refill station in the form of a vending machine called 'GreenFill Box' in collaboration with Lotte Aluminum and Plandb New.
The GreenFill Box operates by refilling detergents and other products into personal refill containers. It sells three types of eco-friendly detergent products under the brand 'Ecotique,' made from plant-based ingredients, including laundry detergent, fabric softener, and dish detergent. Customers can choose between two sizes (300ml and 500ml) and purchase them at a 20% discount from the regular price. Based on the 500ml size, laundry detergent costs 3,800 won, fabric softener 2,800 won, and dish detergent 4,080 won.
Refills can be done using reusable containers. Due to the vending machine's specifications, containers must be under 21cm in height and able to hold at least 350ml. Refillable containers that are reusable and recyclable can also be purchased separately for 1,000 won.
Seven Eleven introduced this service to enable customers to refill living care products, which generate a large amount of plastic waste in daily life, conveniently at nearby convenience stores. After a pilot operation of the refill station at the Seven Eleven Sancheon branch located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, the service will be gradually expanded to other stores.
