Hanwha Group Participates in Korea's Largest Energy Exhibition '2021 Korea Energy Show'
Hanwha Q CELLS Showcases Solar Product Technology
Hanwha Solutions Chemical & Advanced Materials Division Introduces Solar Solutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hanwha Group's Hanwha Solutions Q CELLS division, responsible for the solar power business, Hanwha Solutions Chemical division (Chemical division) and Advanced Materials division (Advanced Materials division), which are engaged in the hydrogen business, as well as Hanwha Power Systems and Hanwha Impact, will showcase next-generation products and technologies at Korea's largest energy exhibition.
Hanwha Group announced on the 7th that Hanwha Q CELLS, Hanwha Solutions Chemical and Advanced Materials divisions, Hanwha Power Systems, and Hanwha Impact will participate in the '2021 Korea Energy Show' held for three days from the 13th to the 15th at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.
The '2021 Korea Energy Show' is the largest energy exhibition in Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Energy Agency, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Hanwha Q CELLS' solar solutions will be introduced in six zones. These include next-generation cells such as the tandem cell prototype with perovskite stacking, which Hanwha Q CELLS is leading the industry in researching, as well as home solar solutions based on zero energy homes. A new Virtual Power Plant (VPP) zone will be established to exhibit the concept and implementation methods of VPP, allowing indirect experience, and roof-type solar power plants, residential inverters (power converters), and ESS (energy storage systems) will also be showcased.
This year, internal capabilities related to green hydrogen production and supply from major Hanwha Group affiliates, including Hanwha Q CELLS, will also be introduced. Hanwha Solutions Chemical division will exhibit the next-generation 'Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolysis Cell (AEMEC)' technology, which overcomes the drawbacks of conventional water electrolysis technology that consumes a lot of electricity. If this electrolysis technology becomes economically viable, Hanwha Group is expected to secure global 'top-tier' competitiveness across the entire value chain of green hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and charging.
Hanwha Power Systems will display hydrogen compressors and charging station models. Selected as the supplier of hydrogen charging systems for the complex energy hub construction project led by Korea Gas Corporation, Hanwha Power Systems is developing a packaged hydrogen charging system that installs equipment such as compressors, high-pressure vessels, and cooling devices inside containers.
Also, Hanwha Impact, which changed its company name this year and declared the promotion of various new businesses, will introduce hydrogen combustors and hydrogen power generation solutions, key devices for hydrogen gas turbine power generation. Earlier this year, Hanwha Impact acquired PSM of the United States and Thomassen Energy of the Netherlands, global leaders in the hydrogen gas turbine field, securing core technology to convert LNG gas turbines into hydrogen gas turbines.
