Kim San, Muan County Governor, Takes Active Steps to Secure Next Year's National Budget

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Kim San, the governor of Muan County, visited the National Assembly on the 6th and met with National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok (Muan·Yeongam·Shinan) to discuss countermeasures for the National Assembly's review of the government budget bill starting in October and requested active support and cooperation for securing the budget by each standing committee in the future.

According to the county on the 7th, the 2022 national treasury support projects discussed that day include five projects that were underrepresented or insufficiently reflected in the government budget bill: the maintenance project for steep slope collapse risk areas in the Small and Medium Business Promotion Agency complex, the expansion project of the public sewage treatment facility in Illo, the expansion project of the Muan-eup sewage treatment plant, the sewage maintenance projects for rural fishing villages in Bokgil, Wonsonghyeon, and Haksong, and the creation of a lifestyle-oriented forest. The total project cost is approximately 40 billion KRW, with a requested national subsidy amount of 4.6 billion KRW.

The 2021 special treasury support requested projects include four projects: the asphalt overlay work on the former Local Road No. 49, the widening and paving work on Rural Fishing Village Road No. 204 in Samhyang-eup, the installation of agricultural water channels in Yangmae District, Haeje-myeon, and the creation of the Songlim Forest Theme Park in Songhyeon-ri, Mangun. The total project cost is 3 billion KRW, with 2.6 billion KRW requested for support.

Additionally, explanations were given on the 2022 Fishing Village New Deal 300 and Muan County mudflat afforestation projects for selection in public contests, emphasizing their necessity and requesting active cooperation. The final target sites for these public contest projects are scheduled to be selected in December.

Governor Kim San said, “The period from October to November, when the National Assembly budget review takes place, is the most critical time for securing national funds,” adding, “We will establish a close cooperative system with National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok until the final budget for next year is approved by the National Assembly to ensure that national funds for essential pending projects in our county are reflected.”
