Gwangju Seobu Office of Education Conducts 'School Violence and Off-Campus Smoking Prevention Education Campaign'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Western Office of Education conducted a 'School Violence and Off-campus Smoking Prevention Education Campaign' twice, on the 28th of last month and October 6th, together with the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station's school police officers, Patrol Mom Gwangju Branch, Jeonnam Technical High School faculty and staff, and the student council.
According to the Gwangju Western Office of Education on the 6th, the campaign was carried out mainly around Jeonnam Technical High School during school commuting hours to raise awareness about school violence and to prevent students' indiscriminate off-campus smoking.
The Gwangju Western Office of Education plans to conduct additional campaigns by identifying schools and areas in need of school violence prevention and off-campus smoking prevention education campaigns through collecting opinions from schools within its jurisdiction.
Through this, they intend to regularly raise awareness of the seriousness of school violence and the dangers of youth smoking, focusing on the main and back gates of schools during commuting hours.
Park Joo-jung, Superintendent of the Gwangju Western Office of Education, said, "No matter how much we emphasize school violence prevention, it is never too much, and there is a need to increase sensitivity to school violence." He added, "The Gwangju Western Office of Education will continue to do its best in school violence prevention and off-campus smoking prevention activities."
