View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Ahn Sang-soo, a presidential primary candidate from the People Power Party and former mayor of Incheon, sparked controversy by tearing up a photo of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential primary candidate, during a TV debate.
On the 6th, during the final TV debate of the second primary held at KBS, Ahn displayed this behavior during the candidate introduction segment before the debate. He took out a photo of Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung’s face with the words "Leader of the Five Enemies of Daejang-dong" written on it and tore it in front of viewers. He shouted, "I will tear off your mask, Lee Jae-myung, the mafia boss of real estate speculation."
On the same day, Ahn also criticized Lee’s Daejang-dong project allegations while holding a large hammer prop. He unfolded a poster of the movie "Asura" along with the hammer and sarcastically said, "I have named him a real estate speculation gangster. Our people are so frustrated and helpless right now that they sent me this Thor (Mjolnir hammer)."
He continued, "Let’s punish these guys. Lee Jae-myung! Kwon Soon-il! Bad guys, come out! With this, just leave the Earth. Ahn Sang-soo will definitely eliminate these people and provide the people with a worry-free life," adding, "For that, our People Power Party must seize power!"
Meanwhile, Ahn had previously attracted attention with unique props in earlier debates. In the debate held on the 1st, he showed a coffin lid-shaped prop, saying, "I will bury those who speculated on real estate in a coffin."
