View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) has taken steps to encourage employees exhausted from responding to COVID-19 and frontline workers involved in COVID-19 response, providing psychological support.
From October 14 to 15, the district conducted the ‘2021 Non-face-to-face Rest (休) Program’ for 40 employees (20 per day). Participating employees engaged remotely from home in brainwave regulation and stress management through music meditation, energy recovery programs using body scan and breathing meditation, and art psychotherapy utilizing personal happiness-invoking mantras.
Prior to this, on the afternoon of the 14th of last month, the district jointly held various psychological support programs with Seoul City for COVID-19 response personnel, including psychological counseling, massage services, and nail art experiences. On that day, the district operated the ‘Cheer-up Bus’ in the above-ground parking lot in front of the district office, delivering messages of support to COVID-19 response personnel and providing refreshments to soothe the weary hearts amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, the district provided cultural gift certificates worth 30,000 KRW per person to 2,391 employees from all departments (dong) who worked hard in various ways for COVID-19 response and 176 frontline COVID-19 response workers, and distributed a total of 6,784,000 KRW in encouragement funds to 12 COVID-19 response general departments.
