According to the police on the 1st, at around 9:10 a.m. that day, a military vehicle escorting COVID-19 vaccines toward Ungsang collided with a refrigerated truck carrying vaccines ahead of it in Beopgi Tunnel, Dong-myeon, Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam.
The vehicle carrying the vaccines had departed from Icheon, Gyeonggi-do at around 5 a.m. that day and was transporting Pfizer vaccines to about 20 hospitals in the Yangsan area.
The vaccines were safely delivered to the hospitals using a backup vehicle.

The police are investigating the cause of the accident, noting that cleaning work was underway inside the tunnel causing vehicles to slow down, and the escort vehicle failed to reduce speed in time.
