[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Iran has condemned Israel's diplomatic activities targeting the parties of the 'Abraham Accords.'
According to major foreign media on the 1st, Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in an interview with the state-run IRNA news agency the previous day, "The visit of Yair Lapid, Israel's Foreign Minister and deputy head of the ruling coalition, to Bahrain has left an indelible stain on the ruler of Bahrain," adding, "We condemn all maneuvers that encourage Israel's destructive presence in the region."
This statement targets Israel's subsequent diplomatic activities following the normalization of relations through the Abraham Accords. Lapid, the deputy head of Israel's ruling coalition and the expected successor to the prime ministership in 2023, visited Bahrain for the first time the previous day and officially opened the embassy.
One year after the signing of the Abraham Accords, Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad personally met with the Israeli Foreign Minister visiting their country to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding the Abraham Accords.
