Hyundai Media Embraced by KT, Relaunches as 'Media Genie' Under CEO Yoon Yong-pil
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] Hyundai Media, a broadcasting channel operator acquired by kt Studio Genie, announced on the 1st that it has changed its company name to 'Media Genie' and appointed Yoon Yongpil, a media content expert within the KT Group, as CEO.
Media Genie plans to relaunch its existing five genre broadcasting channels. Additionally, it will showcase kt Studio Genie's original content through these channels. Through this, the KT Group aims to strengthen the synergy between its media platform and content capabilities.
Yoon Yongpil, CEO of Media Genie, stated, “Based on the powerful media platform owned by the KT Group, we will grow Media Genie into the top broadcasting channel operator in Korea,” adding, "We plan to use it as a foothold for utilizing KT Group's content."

Besides broadcasting channel business, it also operates content distribution, new technology-linked businesses, N-screen, and data broadcasting businesses.
