The ICA is the world's largest non-governmental organization. It represents the interests of 1 billion cooperative members worldwide. Since 1998, NACF has participated as an ICA board member organization, an ICA Asia-Pacific regional board member organization, and as the chair organization of the ICA Agricultural Committee (ICAO).
The ICA World Cooperative Congress discussed by Chairman Lee and Secretary-General Rolants will be held from December 1 to 3 at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul. This event commemorates the 125th anniversary of the ICA's founding and the 25th anniversary of the Declaration on the Cooperative Identity adopted at the 1995 Manchester Congress. This is the second non-European congress since the 1992 Tokyo Congress.
The theme of this congress is "Deepening Our Cooperative Identity - Towards Sustainable Development for All." It aims to share the cooperative identity as a key means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Secretary-General Rolants said, "Korean NACF is a very successful cooperative model, ranking 10th among 320 member organizations in 110 countries and 2nd in the agricultural sector," adding, "I hope this congress will provide an opportunity to share the know-how of Korean NACF with many member organizations."
