This project was carried out to respond to changes in transportation conditions and new public transportation demands due to the continuous population increase in Namak and Oryong New Towns, and to improve the worsening conditions of the bus transportation industry, the increasing financial burden every year, and the management difficulties of bus companies, thereby providing stable services.
The project is scheduled to be completed in January next year, and its main contents include establishing operation and dispatch plans for routes by function and type, linkage plans with rural transportation models (public buses, Happy Taxi), reducing financial burdens through adjustment of inefficient routes, and strengthening the public service functions of rural buses.
The county plans to analyze public transportation demand and operational issues through the project and promote adjustments to the operating system and a comprehensive route reorganization.
Governor Kim San said, “We will do our best to promote the project to efficiently operate rural buses, which are essential transportation means and the feet of the residents, to improve transportation convenience for residents and reduce financial burdens.”
Meanwhile, considering the spread of COVID-19, Muan-gun plans to hold resident briefing sessions in each eup and myeon from October to November, and will continuously collect public transportation-related complaints and resolutions to ensure a resident-centered route reorganization.
