Asia's First Non-Fungible Token (NFT) Auction... Highest Price 5.1 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Fourteen NFT (Non-Fungible Token) artworks were sold for a total of approximately 14 billion KRW at Christie's auction in Hong Kong.
Christie's announced on the 29th that all 14 NFT artworks submitted to the Hong Kong online auction held from the 17th to the 28th were sold, with a total hammer price including buyer's premium of 95.99 million Hong Kong dollars (about 14.6 billion KRW).
This auction was Christie's first NFT auction held in Asia.
NFT refers to virtual assets on the blockchain that cannot be replaced by other tokens. They contain unique identification values, making them non-interchangeable.
The highest hammer price at the auction was recorded by the work 'CryptoPunk 9997' by the U.S. developer LARVA LABS. This piece was sold for 33.85 million Hong Kong dollars (about 5.14 billion KRW).
