[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] As controversy arises over Gwak Sang-do, an independent (former People Power Party) lawmaker, whose son received a retirement payment of 5 billion KRW from 'Hwacheon Daeyu,' a company implicated in preferential treatment allegations related to the Daejang-dong development project in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, Kang Seong-tae, CEO of 'Gongbu-ui Sin' (God of Study), is suddenly facing backlash.
On the 28th, CEO Kang posted a video titled 'Overnight Study Dedicated ASMR' on his YouTube channel. However, the comments on this video include remarks suggesting "CEO Kang is showing selective anger."
Netizens pointed out that while CEO Kang raised fairness issues regarding the admission scandal involving the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and Park Seong-min, former Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party who became a first-grade Blue House youth secretary at age 25, he remains silent about the son of lawmaker Gwak.
On the 29th, critical comments continued on CEO Kang's YouTube channel.

One netizen sarcastically said, "It's almost strange that there wasn't an uproar over the hiring of a nine-month contract special employee from Korea University, which the fairness god Kang Seong-tae was furious about. These days, I wonder what the meaning is of the 5 billion KRW received by someone from Yonsei University's Wonju campus," mocking CEO Kang.
Other netizens also criticized CEO Kang, saying, "I hope the God of Study is lenient to the weak and confident toward the strong," "He only gets angry at certain political forces," and "It's funny how he's cool and quiet about the Noel incident."
Earlier, in 2019, CEO Kang posted a video titled "Since when did Korea become a caste society?" criticizing the unfair admission allegations involving the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk.
At that time, CEO Kang said, "If getting a job or admission is only possible by having good parents, should we be reborn?" and "I once said, 'Don't talk about genes, just do your best,' but this is neither about genes nor effort, it's about parents." He continued, "When and how did this country become a caste society? Is this really Korea?" expressing his anger.
Additionally, in June, CEO Kang mentioned the 'unfairness controversy' surrounding Park Seong-min, the Blue House youth secretary.

He posted a video titled "How a 25-year-old college student became a first-grade Blue House official," saying, "I apologize to the Gods of Study, but this person seems to be the top. I used to say, 'If you're not going to study 10 hours a day, quit.' Students study 10 hours a day to become ninth-grade public officials. But this person became a first-grade official at 25, not even ninth-grade," he said.
