Netflix August Domestic Payment Amount 75.3 Billion KRW... Record High
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Last month, Netflix's domestic payment amount and the number of paid subscribers in South Korea reached record highs.
According to a sample survey conducted on the 23rd by WiseApp, Retail, and Goods, an app and retail analysis service, which analyzed the payment amounts made by South Koreans aged 20 and over using credit and debit cards, the amount paid on Netflix last month is estimated to have reached 75.3 billion KRW, setting a new record.
Compared to August of last year, the payment amount grew by 78% over one year, and the number of payers increased by 63%, from 3.16 million to 5.14 million.
The age distribution of Netflix payers was 26.9% (1.39 million) in their 20s, 29.0% (1.49 million) in their 30s, 24.3% (1.25 million) in their 40s, and 19.8% (1.03 million) aged 50 and above.
While the number of payers in their 20s increased by 9% compared to the same period last year, those in their 30s increased by 92%, 40s by 118%, and those aged 50 and above by 87%, indicating an expansion of users across all age groups.

This survey was based on the amount paid by individuals aged 20 and over in South Korea using credit and debit cards on Netflix, excluding payments made through telecommunications companies or iTunes.
