A Heartwarming Poetry and Painting Exhibition by Seniors Who Missed Learning Opportunities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] The Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Promotion Institute announced on the 22nd that it will hold the 'Visiting Adult Literacy Education Poetry and Painting Exhibition' from the 23rd to October 29th.
This exhibition will display a total of 22 works, including two pieces that won the Grand Prize (Minister of Education Award) at this year's National Adult Literacy Education Poetry and Painting Exhibition.
The exhibition will start at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Office and continue at the Gyeongnam Research Institute, Gimhae Library, Changwon City Uichang Lifelong Learning Center, and Yangsan Business Center. Literacy education serves as a channel for elderly people who missed learning opportunities not only to learn to read and write but also to communicate with the world.
The Lifelong Education Promotion Institute stated that the exhibited works contain sincere life stories of the elderly, including their hard past lives, the joy of learning, and happiness. The 2021 Gyeongnam Adult Literacy Education Poetry and Painting Exhibition award-winning works and learner interviews can also be viewed on the official YouTube channel of the Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Promotion Institute.
