According to Gmarket and Auction, the transaction amount of the ‘Chuseok Big Sale’ held from the 1st to the 14th increased by 17% compared to the same event last year. In particular, customer inflow surged from the first day of the event, achieving sales of over 100 billion KRW in just one day. This is a 28% increase compared to the first day of last year’s event.
The average spending per customer increased by 18% compared to last year. This is interpreted as reflecting the demand for purchasing slightly more expensive gifts instead of visiting hometowns directly. Additionally, the Chuseok special live broadcasts held four times in total achieved over 1.8 million views. The transaction amount for the next-day delivery service ‘Smile Delivery’ also increased by 86% compared to the previous year.
The best-selling product was the ‘Roborock Robot Vacuum Cleaner,’ with sales of 2.6 billion KRW on Gmarket alone. By product category, health supplements more than doubled in transaction amount, ranking first. This was followed by processed foods (94%), cosmetics (93%), and home & beauty appliances (90%).
