View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] On Monday, the day before Chuseok, the weather will be mostly clear nationwide, with cloudy skies in the southern regions and Jeju Island. However, caution is advised for inland fog in the morning and strong winds along the west coast.
The central region will be mostly clear, but clouds will increase from the west in the afternoon. There may be rainfall of around 5mm at night in inland areas of the southern regions such as eastern Jeonnam and western Gyeongnam.
Dense fog is expected mainly inland until 9 a.m., so traffic safety should be carefully observed. The fog formed due to a significant temperature drop overnight following a rise in daytime temperatures yesterday.
As of 5 a.m., temperatures were Seoul 19.2°C, Incheon 20.7°C, Suwon 19.6°C, Chuncheon 16.3°C, Gangneung 17.5°C, Cheongju 20.3°C, Daejeon 19.6°C, Jeonju 19.6°C, Gwangju 19.8°C, Jeju 22.4°C, Daegu 16.9°C, Busan 20.0°C, Ulsan 19.7°C, and Changwon 18.0°C.
The daytime high temperature is forecast to be between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius, similar to the previous day, with a large temperature difference between morning and evening.
Fine dust levels will be 'good' across all regions due to favorable atmospheric dispersion.
Strong wind warnings may be issued for the west coast of Chungnam starting at night, so special attention should be paid to facility management and safety accidents.
Marine conditions are also expected to be unfavorable. Strong winds and high waves are forecast in the West Sea, so travelers using marine transportation for returning home or visiting should check sailing information in advance.
Wave heights will be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea nearshore. In the outer seas (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.0 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
