In particular, during the five-day holiday period from the 18th to the 22nd, emergency duty will be carried out by each department at the county office and health center to maintain quarantine measures such as social distancing. In addition, in the event of confirmed cases, a disaster situation management system will be maintained with all staff working.
The county is first urging residents and hometown visitors to refrain from traveling to their hometowns and relatives and is vigorously conducting a Safe Chuseok campaign to create a quarantine atmosphere and prevent spread by minimizing face-to-face contact.
In cases where visiting hometowns or returning to hometowns is unavoidable, it is strongly recommended to take a COVID-19 diagnostic test in advance at the place of residence before departure or at temporary screening clinics operated at highway rest areas.
In the Jeonnam region, temporary screening clinics are operated at four locations: Hampyeong Cheonji Rest Area (towards Mokpo), Baekyangsa Rest Area (towards Suncheon), Seomjingang Rest Area (towards Suncheon), and Boseong Green Tea Rest Area (towards Mokpo). In addition, major train stations and terminals in large cities are also operated.
Especially, if parents have not been vaccinated, it is strongly recommended to postpone visiting hometowns for the safety of the parents.
The county will maintain an emergency duty system so that quarantine management and diagnostic testing systems can operate normally during the Chuseok holiday period as usual.
COVID-19 screening clinics will operate without closing during the holiday period at three locations: the health center, Haenam General Hospital, and Haenam Woori General Hospital. Separate measures will be operated for isolation management and emergency response in case of situations.
Although Haenam-gun is stabilizing recently due to proactive responses related to entertainment establishments and cooperation from residents, the situation is still not safe even for a moment. The upcoming Chuseok holiday period could be another critical moment, so the county plans to maintain thorough quarantine measures prioritizing residents' safety.
Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan urged, “We ask all residents to strictly follow personal quarantine rules such as minimizing private gatherings and wearing masks.”
