[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 15th, the Blue House held an emergency meeting of the NSC Standing Committee chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, expressing deep concern over North Korea's consecutive missile provocations.
The Blue House stated, "The government held an emergency meeting of the NSC Standing Committee chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, from 5:30 PM to 6:40 PM today. After receiving a report from Won In-chul, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, regarding North Korea's short-range ballistic missile launch, the security situation was reviewed and response measures were discussed."
The Blue House added, "The NSC Standing Committee members first expressed deep concern over North Korea's consecutive missile launch provocations, which occurred at a time when stability in the situation is critically important. They agreed to closely consult with related countries, including the United States, to conduct a detailed analysis of the background and intentions."
The Blue House explained, "Regarding the detailed specifications of the launched projectile, it was decided to analyze them through close cooperation between South Korean and U.S. defense and intelligence authorities. Going forward, we will closely monitor North Korea's internal and military developments and take necessary measures."
The Blue House also stated, "Immediately after the projectile launch, President Moon Jae-in received an oral report on the situation from Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, and Yoo Young-min, Chief of the Presidential Secretariat. Additionally, at the SLBM submarine launch test site, further reports were received from Minister of National Defense Seo Wook and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Won In-chul."
