How About ‘Sobang’ for This Year’s Chuseok Gift from Your Hometown? Ulsan Fire Department Promotes Home Fire Safety Equipment Gifts
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] “Give the gift of ‘fire safety’ to your hometown home.”
The Ulsan Fire Department has launched a “Promotion Campaign for the Installation of Residential Fire Safety Equipment” from the 15th to the 26th in celebration of Chuseok.
The Fire Department is broadcasting promotional videos for the installation of residential fire safety equipment through social networking services (SNS), media outlets, and electronic billboards, and operating promotional booths at crowded places such as Ulsan Station and traditional markets.
They are also promoting unique campaigns using convenience store checkout monitors, large mart trick art, and fast food drive-thru stores.
According to the Fire Department, residential fires accounted for only 14.7% of all fires over the past three years, but the death rate was significantly high at 44.4%.
Fire safety experts say that such damage can be reduced by installing residential fire safety equipment such as residential fire alarms and fire extinguishers.
When a fire occurs, hearing the residential fire alarm allows for quick evacuation to prevent casualties, and using a fire extinguisher, which is as effective as one fire truck in the early stages of a fire, can reduce property damage.
